Only in June 2026 did the FDA add its first new UV filter in decades, one already permitted in Europe for many years. Most American sunscreen still relies on the same ingredients your parents wore.

Since then the science has moved on. A generation of newer organic filters offers broader protection and more stability in sunlight. Europe approved them. Asia approved them. The United States has approved just one of them so far.

The European Edition is built on what the rest of the world already trusts. The same chemistry that lets us leave the banned filters out is what makes the formula worth wearing in the first place.

In Europe, our formulation partner spent years engineering an SPF that could survive inside a soft capsule, where every earlier attempt had failed. The shell had to open cleanly while the formula stayed intact, and it took dozens of iterations to hold.

That formula is the work SOLA carries forward, developed in Europe, with three provisional patent applications filed on the composition and the delivery system. It was built for people who believe sun protection can be as considered as everything else they put on their skin.
